Youth & Children

"Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God." - Mark 10:14

Grace's ministry to children is grounded in Jesus' words above. Jesus never overlooked children. Instead, He embraced them and brought them closer to Him. That is what we strive to do through our children's ministry at Grace. We believe that the future of the church depends on the effective ministry to our children today. Our children's ministry volunteers take this seriously, knowing that they are making a lasting impression about God in our students' lives.

Our preschool classes are based on the knowledge that children learn more in the first five years of their lives than at any other time. As they grow physically they are eager to learn and so we want to respond by providing a safe, loving, encouraging, and enjoyable environment where they can learn about God. Children begin by learning the basics story-line of the Bible, and God's plan to bring them into fellowship with Him through Jesus Christ. We provide preschool Bible classes for ages 2 through kindergarten on Sunday during morning worship and during our Wednesday midweek service. As children grow older, they remain intellectually curious. Our elementary classes are geared toward instilling biblical knowledge while also teaching them how the Bible applies directly to their lives. Our goal is to lead them with love and encouragement to continue growing deeper spiritually, leading to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We provide elementary Bible classes for children in 1st-4th grade on Sunday during morning worship and for children in 1st-9th grade on Wednesday evenings.

Because we know that building a Christ-centered life requires deep connections with others, that won't happen solely in a classroom. We try to create other special opportunities for fellowship and instruction for our students, as well as for those outside the church we are seeking to reach for Christ. Some of these events/activities include Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, service projects, participating in worship services and other class-sponsored events, and more.We have also begun CTS, which is an intentional strategy of 1) teaching the Bible to students from 1st-12th grade, 2) encouraging youth to use their spiritual and natural gifts for Christ's church (music, art, etc.), and 3) connecting committed Christian youth across the state and nation to one another in the annual ministry expo known as the National Youth Conference.

Our children's ministry is overseen by the Youth Council, a group of volunteers committed to winning our youth to Christ, and then leading them to spiritual maturity. They especially hope to achieve these goals through equipping parents to implement the principles found in Deuteronomy 6. We would love the opportunity to partner with your family to grow the next generation for Christ.

Help impact the next generation by joining the children's ministry team. Speak to Brother Jackson or a member of the Youth Counciil, or come to our monthly meetings if you'd like more information on how you can get involved in this exciting and important ministry.
